Halloween News

Tuesday 25 October 2016

October 25, 2016

Dear Parents,

Here is some information about Halloween. We will have a Kindergarten Halloween Parade on Monday October 31, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. We will parade around the Kindergarten playground for you to see our fun costumes. The students will enter the school at 8:25 a.m. and we will take attendance. After that we will get ready for our parade. Please send your child dressed in his or her costume, we do ask that no weapons or accessories of that kind come with your child. He or she can wear a mask during the parade , but will have to take if off for the duration of the school day. If it is raining we will make indoor arrangements and let you know that day.

If you wish to send in a Halloween snack to share with the class please know we have 31 students. We do have time in the day to share some yummy food.

Please let us know if you have any questions,

Ms.Foltarz and Ms. Crombie

Fun October Times!

Friday 14 October 2016

Hello!
This week has been a lot of fun in Kindergarten! Our JK's are learning to print their names, this is something you can easily help your child with at home. Our JK's have also been learning how to put on their coats, please ask your child to put on his or her coat when you are going out. This will help reinforce what we have been learning in the class.
Our SK's are beginning their reading groups, and we are reviewing some popcorn words, letters and simple text in books. We also brought out our lock and key game so be sure to take a look at the pictures and if you have an extra lock and key like the ones in the pictures we would love to add a few more.

Happy October

Friday 7 October 2016

Hello from Room 5!
We have been busy this week with Meet the Teacher Night and Picture Day, we definitely put on our best smiles! We also tried some colourful carrots, and coconut this week to reinforce the letter C. We should all know the letters A, B and C now, so please review these at home with your child and practice printing them too. We have also started our Reading Buddies program. We have teamed up with some Grade 5 students and each Kindergarten has a Grade 5 partner to read with. The students really enjoyed this and we will continue doing it each week.
